Chief Executive Officer

Kent joined Southwest Health System, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer on March 19, 2015. He was first persuaded to visit southern Colorado on family vacations and fell in love with the area.

He is a native of Lexington, Tennessee and graduated with a degree in Finance and Business Administration from Ole Miss in 1987. Kent holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Else School of Management of Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. He also received a Masters of Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia.

While at Ole Miss, he met his future wife, Bonnie Elisabeth Jones from Tulsa, Oklahoma. They married in 1990 and have 2 children. Twenty-one-year-old “JoJo” who attends Oklahoma University and sixteen-year-old Grant who enjoys snowboarding with his dad in Colorado each winter. Kent loves spending time outdoors and enjoys golfing, running, fishing, kayaking, and upland bird and waterfowl hunting.

As a native of a rural community, he has a passion for community-based healthcare. During his twenty-five year career, he previously led healthcare organizations in Maryville, Tennessee, West Point and Forest, Mississippi and Ada, Oklahoma.
